New necklace

Making new from old... glass beads, copper, old sterling ring, bits of an antique chain from Syria, a stone bead given by Lucie and an old coin from Yougoslavia.

Round Robin - Round I

Today I received Lucie's necklace and I sent mine to Sherry... well I sent both to Sherry.
Each necklace will travel with its own purse. I made mine and I also made Lucie's because I think I got lost in translation and forgot to tell her about the purse. The burlap one is the one I made for her.. it's still quite rough -and the photo is really not good. I hope Sherry and Lindsay will work their magic on it and make it look better ! ;)

Dead Flower WIP

plaster, hemp, clay
That's 2 hours worth of work. I'm quite pleased with the result. I knew I wanted to make a face but I had no idea what it would look like when I started to work on it. It's not quite finished, it's calling for some "embellishments". She will have a few sisters too...
Thanks for all the previous comments about the pictures in the magazine. I took them, it was a pain but it seems it was worth it!
Lucinda, yes the first necklace is the ever-changing "monster", it weighs a ton now!

Keeping warm

The white stuff is back and it's cold outside...
So I'm keeping warm and making jewelry ..

A beautiful raku focal made by Laurence, a medieval ring, a bullet case ( given by Sherry) with horse hair, a found bone and an unknown tooth, silver wire, brass and copper on leather cord.
A bit of everything ....
I also want to thank Elsie for buying the Let Love Be necklace and thank you too Dorcas !
Have a great weekend! And thank you for all the previous comments! :)

Let Love Be

copper, polymer clay
copper, brass, seed beads and a gorgeous glass heart made by Lucinda Storms
THANK YOU DORCAS :)

I try not to watch ... this is too awful and it breaks my heart.

This is the least I can do : making jewelry , selling it and giving the proceeds to Doctors Without Borders ( MSF).

Some people were wondering if I'd re-open my etsy shop. It is now ...
If you browse Etsy, you'll notice I'm not the only one trying to help a bit... so please have a look.
Nina Bagley is also hosting an auction on her blog.
So is Deryn Mentock...

If you ever wonder why ...

some jewelry or jewelry findings are so cheap, read this . I must admit, it's scary ... I have been using some "tibetan silver" beads in the past ... I think I won't anymore...

And while I'm at it ...

Laurence from Raku Bijoux spoiled me!
A photo holder, some beads and a pendant. The photo doesn't do justice to these beauties. Will take a better one when I get time.
Things she found in her garage... Awsome aren't they? Soon to be wearable things!

And homemade soaps. These are great, better than the stuff you find in the supermarket!
MERCI MERCI MERCI LAURENCE!

Back

Happy New Year to you!
Thanks for all the comments and wishes!
I have been busy with the craziness of the Holidays and also with editing photos for an article in Blair Magazine. It will be published in next month's issue!
I was contacted by them thanks to Nadège the owner of the gallery where I show my jewelry.
The gallery name is Un Endroit Biz'art. They don't have a website but you can find them on FaceBook. Merci Nadège ! ;)

Things

This is what I saw from my window on Saturday morning.... reading the news, a lot of people in Europe and the East Coast of the US saw the white stuff too ... keep warm!

Don't you love when someone knows exactly what kind of surprise you'd love ?
This amazing fish bone ( a saw fish?) was given to me by a dear friend whose Uncle works in Brazil.
She also gave me this gorgeous seeds and feathers necklace.

And I also received this beautiful stone from another friend. It seems to be flint and the hole is natural.

This necklace is made of two watch chains ( from my grand fathers), a bronze "thing" from the Middle Age, a kind of magnifier ( found at the flea market last summer) . The crystal and the bullet case are from Sherry.
