sunday eye candy

A Greek legend says that when Perseus cut off the head of Medusa, her blood fell into the sea and grew into red coral. Therefore red coral is supposed to protect sailors and fishermen.
Red coral is also ( like many natural amulets) supposed to protect against the evil eye, to defend against sterility...

arkansan voodoo

While in Arkansas, I said to Bobbi, I'd make her a "voodoo" necklace as a thank you.. So she gave me elements that had a meaning to her to put on the necklace ( the amonite, the red bird, the agate slice, the lizard, a shark tooth, a crystal bead, one of Jay's faces, a Mexican coin)... I went back with them... mixed them with some other elements. The voodoo bird flew to Arkansas watching over Bobbi's necklace...

Some stuff will be flying soon to Tennessee and Chicago...

amulet

wood, hand carved, total length 2" or 5cm

I decided to play with my pocket knife today...

This is a Mano Fica... it's a very obscene gesture in Italy... It is supposed to ward off the evil eye...

Of course it will end up on my "voodoo" necklace aka the monster necklace...

Made in the USA

Made in Arkansas.
Jay from Hidden Missives let me play with his polymer clay and his molds...
And he even let me ransack his shelves of faces... well he said I could take a few and I got carried away...hmmm... tomorrow something is going to AK to make up for that... ;)

Made in Tennessee.

Sherry taught me to make some transfer on polymer clay and she gave me a few boxes to decorate with this technique... She's an awesome teacher!

I did not make anything in Chicago but took a lot of photos there.

.....Meet Handsome Jack and Miss Josie, they are Lindsay's four legged kids
