So here it is as it was before
An after photo.
And how I wear it, with the round robin necklace.
The world of amulets and talismans is a fascinating one. I finished reading Desmond Morris "Body Guards" it's as good as Sheila Paine's book. I ordered two more books on the subject with less photos but more theory : the complete book of amulets and talismans and le livre des talismans et des amulettes. Can't wait to read them!

there is a world of lore in Cuban Santeria talismans - fascinating and a bit forbidden by the teachings of my childhood which make it all the more delicious!
Steph...I am absolutely drooling over this ever changing piece! I have been thinking about purchasing the book you mention...it is now a must have!!
And Elsiee..more research for me to do? How provocative...Santeria talisman. You two gals keep me on my toes:)
this is beautiful and i am now looking up the books- wear the necklace well... so powerful...
oh Steph...I am in the thralls of this myself, I've always been fascinated with day of the dead but I have delved more deeply into shared spiritual traditions and symbols of various cultures. Here's a great book if you can find it, it accompanies a permanent exhibit of miagros and amulets at the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe New Mexico. Faith and Transformation from the Alexander Girard Collection.
love everything you're doing here!
