Relics

1. Leather, fine silver, brass, old Tudor era bronze piece, stamped brass, salvaged ivory ( from an old broken statue).
2. Medieval bronze ring ( or older), fine silver, salvaged silver spoon handle, found bone piece.
3. Sterling chain from Syria, found bone piece, 9mm bullet case, horse hair, fine silver, salvaged ivory, Tudor era bronze pieces.
A note on the ivory : I know ivory is badddddddd ( well it's good on its owner), I had this broken statue I inherited from my grand mother... rather than throwing it I decided to use it in my jewelry...
A note on the inspiration : after posting this I realised than I might have been inspired by the work of Ramona Solberg, the grandmother of found art jewelry.

The new pieces are wonderful! So ancient looking. They look as if they could have been found at an archeological dig.
I love the new banner at the top too!

First let me say, the new layout for your blog is absolutely perfect. The back and white works beautifully with your work, really highlighting the color in each piece. Your new header is fabulous. I wish someone would be able to tell me in 3 words or less, how to layout and change a blog to what one wants.

These jewelry pieces are great. I love the items you have hanging from each piece. Simple and elegant.

You are cooking up some stew of your own, with the ivory.

I think it's fine and GOOD to re-use old ivory, better to put it to good use and these pieces are lovely!!

I also love the little tufts of horse hair...

Steph these are amazing. Is there any chance either of the top two are available, especially #2?

I see nothing wrong at all about using antique ivory in jewelry, so long as it is identified as re-purposed. If you're selling it, you might want to not only identify it as such but include information on groups working to shut down the efforts of poachers, groups like the IFAW. (http://www.ifaw.org/)
