drillin'

I would never have dared drilling stones and sea glass if Lisa from GreenStudio hadn't encouraged me to do so... and thanks to her... now I have a new addiction...  been hunting in my jars and drawers for stuff to drill... the sea glass is from Spain, a dear friend gave it to me a few years ago, stones I have no idea where I picked them up... except for the white-ish one.. a gift from Alek...
Made two summer necklaces for myself... Spanish sea glass for one, pink quartz (did not drill that one) and a stone I picked today on my 5 miles walk for the other...
Love the green of May... my favorite time of the year...

Gayle made a gorgeous prayer flag... check it out!

Carpe Diem

Made it at the end of last year... around the same time I made the other beaded things I posted last December... It got tired of laying in a drawer...

Heavy showers here..big mama of a thunderstorm...

slow

The making of things is slow at the moment... these are very simple... little thank yous than will travel with the Medicine Woman necklace...

If the making is slow... the thinking is taking much of my time... processing so many things that are happening in my life... the bat is quiet... the platypus is having some kind of an awekening...

clay doll

A doll is a model of a human being, often used as a toy for children. Dolls have traditionally been used in magic and religious rituals throughout the world, and traditional dolls made of materials like clay and wood are found in the Americas, Asia, Africa and Europe. The earliest documented dolls go back to the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Greece and Rome. Dolls being used as toys was documented in Greece around 100AD. They have been made as crude, rudimentary playthings as well as elaborate art. Modern doll manufacturing has its roots in Germany going back to the 15th century. With industrialization and the appearance of new materials like porcelain and plastic, dolls were increasingly mass produced. During the 20th century dolls became increasingly popular as collectibles (source : wikipedia).

A few months ago, Lindsay from Alien Beadings sent me some photos of artifacts, they inspired me to make this doll among other things... Thank you Lindsay!
