Playing With Polymer Clay

These are not part of my usual color palette... I guess it's the return of Spring that inspired me to play with colors... They were fun to make anyway !

Cherubs and Gargoyle

First, the cherubs ... they were saved from a piece of a victorian era bracelet. I added some rough amber beads.

And the Gargoyle trying to get through the cat flap ( of the well named mud room!). He's the dog of a neglecting neighbor... and it seems he finds more love here than where he's supposed to live..

I'm quite busy at the moment. I've been asked to be part of a craft show and I have been making a lot of new jewelry... more soon!

Thanks for all the previous comments ... it's always nice when someone stops by to say hi!

Merci pour tous vos commentaires, c'est toujours agréable quand quelqu'un prend le temps de dire bonjour!

Voodoo and Chickens

Look what the postman brought. I ordered a mexican voodoo pendant from Lucinda of Belvedere Beads. And she added a couple of gorgeous beads to the package ! If you've never stopped by her blog, please do...
Now I own 3 mexican voodoo pendants. Lucinda makes them with orphan beads. Aren't they cool?
And now some updates about Cocotte ( my way of saying thank you to you, Lucinda! )
A few years ago I had to save Cocotte from the other chickens. I don't know what she did or said but the others were after her. And when I say after her, I mean they would have killed her.
So Cocotte lived the life of a spoiled chicken. She had her own house ( I built it myself), she was free to wander around. I gave her cat bits as treats... When I was calling her name she was running to me! Sometimes I would forget to lock her up but she didn't mind.
But about 3 weeks ago, I did not forget to lock her up and she has been one lucky chicken.
Because Mr ( or is it Mrs ?) Fox paid a visit. Unfortunatly, the other chickens weren't locked (don't blame me, I am not the one in charge regarding those...). So I guess for the Fox it was like winning the lottery.. He killed 5 chickens, took two away... Of the 3 dead ones it left , I kept the legs ( yes, I know I'm weird), they're drying in the attic!
This said, we decided to see if Cocotte would like the join the rest of the chickens and she did ( before the visit of the fox, she was wandering a lot near the others, it was like if she wanted to be with them).
So now Cocotte lives with her sisters ( I guess the ones who wanted to frame her were among the unlucky ones... ). She still knows her name but she's not that bothered ... But I'm sure she's happy ( as long as she's safe at night !).
Stay tuned, soon some new jewelry and an unexpected four legged guest!

A sign in the sky...

... is telling me Spring is on its way...
I spotted cranes heading north this afternoon ...

Well these were not , took the picture last Autumn ( either late october or early november) , these were heading south ..
Each time I see cranes or geese in the sky I can't help thinking about Nils Holgersson , one of my favorite books.

ABS monthly challenge entry

I decided to make a ring with one of my polymer clay beads. The ring shape was inspired by the work of S.Lenart Kazmer.
Copper, brass and polymer clay, cold connected.

Animal Cruelty

Meet Igor aka Iggy. Iggy is a Niebelung cat ( Russian Blue with long hair).A friend of mine found him last year and gave him to me as she wasn't able to keep him. Iggy thinks he's the king and acts like one. Doesn't like to be told off, doesn't like to be brushed ( and he needs it).

So as a reward to myself when I brush him, I decided to make some felt beads with his fur !
Here is a pair of earrings I made with some of the beads. This will be a gift for the friend who gave me Iggy. Maybe I'll make a bracelet too ! We'll see !

An Award and a surprise !

So, Andee from andeesigns awarded my blog with the Proximidade award. Thanks Andee!

Here's the deal :

Proximidade is described as follows:'This blog invests and believes in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes for self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers!'The rules are: This blog award should be sent to your favorite eight bloggers and they, in turn should forward to eight of their favorites. You should include the text for Proximidade (above) in your announcement blog.

So, now I have to choose eight blogs ( but this doesn't mean the other links on the right aren't worth a visit!):

Terres de Brumes

Talking about Serendipity ... Lindsay sent me a gorgeous scarf among others things ...It's warm, it's soft and I won't leave the house without it until Spring!

Make sure to check her store Enjolive! ... gorgeous hats that will lighten up any gloomy winter day!
